Luscious Dogs

January 01, 2020

I'm teaming up with my brother Psycho D once again along with local singer/songwriter Jamie Smith (Bliss) to create some weird yet catchy music that busts through some outdated rock tropes. We like rock, but we also like lush soundscapes and bass tones, and we think it's time rock be brought up to date for the new millenia. Enter - Luscious Dogs.

Banjo Drill

Brandon met Banjo Drill when Noctaluca played with Black Cat Revival at the Mad Frog in Cincinnati. Many moons passed, and Banjo had some songs that were outside of either his or Brandon's typical sound. "This was my first venture into more hip hop, Beck-esque drum compositions. I laid a base of sampled beats, then recorded live drums on top of it. The songs on Music For Humans are fun, full of robots, aliens, and cool vibes. We are working together to release new material after 10 years, and I'm stoked. One of my dreams is to do a gig with Banjo and a band dressed as weird, boxy robots and/or alien characters."

Noctaluca

World class rock that digs deep. Sometimes heavy, progressive, sometimes light as a bird, or grungy, but always infectiously grooving. Perhaps one reviewer sums it up best... "Noctaluca is now my favorite band. every so often we do stumble across a really good band, and when that happens, i find a new sense of hope for rock and roll. The Terrors were awesome as well, but unfortunately I didn't get to see too much of their set because I was busy trying to find the pieces of my brain that Noctaluca blew out all over the back wall."  - Lawrence Desilets

The Dark Matters is a 4 piece rock band featuring Drew Lanius, Jay Aronoff, Brandon Schlunt and Donovan Schlunt. The band, which was a spin-off of Eden Park Band is scheduled to release their first two songs by early April 2017. This powerful and eclectic mix of blues, progressive rock, metal and reggae evokes flavors of Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bigelf and Rush. The songs mostly are metaphorical interpretations of classic themes and stories. Be it mythology or history, the songs blend a believable lyric with a first person delivery. The music punctuates the emotion of the storytelling with many complex changes and powerful delivery.

It is unclear when the band expects to finish the first full release of music by
